<quote>I can't find Transport Tycoon available to buy - Can I just download it?
No! All versions of Transport Tycoon are protected by copyright, and are the subject of a publication agreement with Microprose, which means the only legal way to obtain the game (and support the developer) is to purchase the full boxed product. If you can't find it in your country, you can usually purchase by mail order from another country - See Games/Purchasing for more details</quote>

downloading is inlegal check out the websiote of chris saywer. http://www.schrissawyer.com

Because the copyright hasn't expired yet. That'll take another 70 or so years starting from when he dies.

Until then, all downloads of TT(O|D) are illegal unless you have explicit permission by the copyright holder.

And the concept of "abandonware" doesn't exist. It's a legal fiction some people have created to justify their (still illegal) actions of downloading games that aren't for sale anymore. It's just as illegal as downloading Windows XP. Just perhaps slightly less chance of prosecution...

If it's a used copy, it can be anything.
