hi!

i have made a global warming map which has been released ahead of schedule as i am now only making an un-modded version. it is of no real place and there are veichles from both alpine and british climates.

the game is classed as expert

the general idea is of raised sea levels which flooded the land so earth walls were built to keep water out. there are seperate islands. the start year is 2030.

there are only electric trains.

there will be 1 version with no extra veichles or mods. you can add the ones you want once you've downloaded the map.

thanks.

plank

the scenario is complete and is availible below.

Did you play Railroad Tycoon 2: The Second Century? There's a mission in there in 2050 where the coalition of 'people against humanity' or something destroy a geothermal powerplant in Spain. The resulting escaping gases cause a super greenhouse effect, and the ocean levels are rising rapidly, threatening the world (including the drained-and-now-heavily-populated Mediterranean Basin). You have to use Thalys and GG-1 locos to deliver concrete to fill the hole before the world floods... each game year the water rises, gradually washing away your tracks...

No, it's faster then that. Each game DAY, water rises by up to 220 feet, depending on how much cement has been delivered. I've failed everytime at 54 loads.... pisses me off everytime.

Whatever. Usually that game runs in years, for that scenario it runs in days.

I've actually beaten it, but to get the gold medal (and save London and the Med Basin) is, to my mind, impossible. I didn't like RRT2 that much anyway, it was far too arbitrary, unlike TTD where the trains were real (I mean, in RRT2, where does all the rolling stock come from? My train carries cotton from point A to point B, but then goes back empty, where are all the cotton cars coming from at point A? And what's being done with them at point B??)

The problem is that if you remove the dykes, the water doesn't flood the land like in ttd.

Yeah, 'Damn!!!!' was a great map, wasn't it? The fun for me came when, if the AI (or myself feeling malevolent) bulldozed a dyke, trying to reroute and keep the transport running for as long as possible as the water overtook the cities.

Couldn't help myself

Revolution Rails

"The seas created by global warming have receeded, but the trees haven't come back. Apparantly the seas have deposisted huge amounts of chemicals over the land. Harvest it and make your fortune.

Start year is 2040 and you must deliver 25,000 crates of goods to win.

Medium Scenario with no AIs.

Somehwere around 20 years is my record, though I bet theres someone out there who can topple that crappy time.

I did the revolution rails map.
This one has a good story and very much details.
I played it in 11 years and 1 month.
Image
I needed only one chemical plant for this.
Time to bring in the mods for the other plants.
Need larger tankers and for sure much bigger goods wagons.
Also i've to place some extra factories in the corners.
I publish the screenshot when all plants are served.
Thanks for this one.

maley123, i just played one of your random scenario's today.
That's crap.
I advise you to study the "revolution rails" map, what shows how it has to be.
So stop posting your own scenario's, till you reach an above average level of design.
In the mean time i play my own not published maps.
