I didn;t say that .... I can't predict if Michael gives anyone permission or not ... it's up to him ... I only know his mail to report bugs for his graphics

Hmm... Well, we're putting together an American set, and half of the trains already exist in one set or another, several in Michael's. Namely, the SD40, F40, P42 Genesis, and TurboTrain, with their matching liveries. They look great as they are so there doesn't seem any reason to redraw them.

Also, a couple of his other trains are fairly close in shape to American ones and would be helpful to base off of, such as:

BR182 -> Acela HHP-8
ICE -> Acela
EL15 -> AEM7

A working version of the Big Boy has already been drawn, you can see it in the thread

You can look at my train list and reference page here:

Well, as I see it, chances are quite good to get permission for tempset locos but really bad for dbset ones.
But do ask, worst what can happen is No.

We already got permission to use the tempset locos.

We don't absolutely need any of the DBset locos as we were only going to use them as short-cuts to similar shaped trains.

The arctic set ones we do need as they are the exact trains we need and it's stupid to do them over. But he might not mind, as the arctic set seems to be kind of an "orphan" set anyway. Raichaise, can you ask for us please. Proper credit will be given of course.

Hi,

does anyone know if michael is going to release the new freight wagons of the db-set also as a separate set, like a new cargo set?

This would be very interesting for the other graphic creators out here. I'm planning on making an NMBS-set and the NS-set seems to be progressing quite well. But if those sets can't use the new cargo wagons, who is going to play with them for a long time?? I don't think i would :cry:

Can someone ask michael about this?

About DB-set XL....

I just read about it, and I'm not sure did I miss something, but does it also include DB-sets locos?

Alpha 14 is just out, and you need 15 for the new DBSet?

Yes, it's a good set. A very good set, trust me. Just be sure to read the damn manual... MB was worried that nobody would be able to use it right, and would clog up the forums and the mailing list with stupid bug reports.

Yes, everybody knows that the refit button doesn't come ip straightaway, you have to close your train window and open it again ;). I hope that pre-empted some peoples "reports" :lol:

I love this set, more great work! The freight wagons look very nice when put with the TT locomotives, and are a vast improvement over the original TT wagons. Also of note is the placement of the DBSet grf in the newgrf file, you'll need to watch that as well.

Where can you get all the info to make it work? Why the manual of course. It's a good read. Read it guys :].
