Company Creator in 2023

Post by RoraIndy »

I don't know if someone already knows/answered this but, does anyone know how to get the locomotion company editor to run? Or have an alternate way of making company logos? I lost my flash drive a while ago that had some in a move, and I'm looking to make new ones.

Hi, do you just want to create your own map / scenario or do you want to create your own faces for your company?

Creating faces for a company. The editor I used to use doesn't work anymore for me it seems.

I've never heard of a company editor, just use LocoTool to open the .dat into a .xml and image folder. Create the images you want and run them thru Walter's Wally program to ensure you are using locomotion's color palette. Copy them into the image folder and then use locoTool again on the .xml to create your new .dat

The color palette thing is the only hard part, I recently found a way to do this with InfanView and this method : https://superuser.com/questions/1684777 ... ow-can-i-d
It's super fast and easy once you get it set up.

The company editor is a old program from 2004 that had red boxes with black Xs that make .company files.
It's been years since I been on this site and had to remake a profile to make this post. Some of this stuff seems more complicated and I may need some tutorials to learn these new programs and methods.

Locotool is pretty easy to use. Just right-click on a .dat file -> open with -> locoTool.exe This will generate a .xml and image folder. When you've finished making your changes, right-click on the .xml -> open with -> locoTool.exe This will create a new .dat
Download it here : viewtopic.php?f=40&t=10314

Check out Walter1940's signature for links to a tutorial for Wally.

Using InfanView is harder, you have to know a bit about windows batch files and comand line parameters. Just ask if you want help on that one.
