Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
As you wish. TEP 60 won't be useless in Asia either.
Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
And I won't expect. I've checked for most common or interesting locomotives. And only you decide which will make it to grf.I'll run trough this list but don't expect me to add them all. I've already said that I'll add a few to fill in some gaps
TEP70 was introduced in 1978, ones build between 1973 and 1978 are preserial versions. Strangely they keep same series. There was TEP75 in 1976-77 which have more common parts with serial TEP70.TEP60 was introduced in 1960 while the TEP70 was introduced in 1973
Well, there is gasturbine version of TEP60 - GP1 which could be added if you move TEP60. Or two other, slower diesels: TEP10 and TEP10L (another single cab body). Both could be added as Ukranian for Europe.I prefer to add something to fill the gap instead of changing regions for an engine and risk making a new gap
Then I don't think you'll find anything introduced at that time. Most engines have been developed at 70s to replace older ones, developed after WW2. And 80s/90s was a time, when eastern block fall apart and there was no time nor money for developing new locomotives...doesn't fall into the "1980s/1990s engines" category
If you think that you can cover all 2TE10* series (1960s 2TE10 and up to modern 2TE10Ut) with single version which produced only for 8 years, let it be so.and as far as I'm concerned that covers all 2TE10 variants
Have you ever opened that links? If you do, you'll see that E499.2 and E499.3 are completly different locomotives... Ok. Let's call them not E499.2 and E499.3 as per for CSD classification but 150 and 163 as CD classifies them. Better now? (but they still not produced in 80s/90s...)Same goes for different E499 variant
Oh! Really?there is an exUSSR set available for OTTD so be my guest...
...
Well, I'm one of it's creators. I just wanted to help with making eastern part of your set.
There is still problem with VL15/VL85 (considering " usual scaling (1/8 = cca 2,5m)" they should be 9/8 for a single unit and VL15 still have only have 3/4 of it's power) and VL22m (runs too fast)... Also Эмх should be writen as Emh, not Emch (Эмч).
I think that adding a task at devzone will be better...
Sorry for my bad English.

Really? I wouldn't have guessed it... Seriously now, I know that, I was being a bit sarcastic... Sorry.Simozzz wrote:Oh! Really?... Well, I'm one of it's creators.Voyager One wrote:there is an exUSSR set available for OTTD so be my guest...

OK, this is something I didn't know. However, I'm not really keen in that TEP60/TEP70 change.Simozzz wrote:TEP70 was introduced in 1978, ones build between 1973 and 1978 are preserial versions
Not quite true. In fact, if you take a look at the tracking table, I've already sorted out East Europe and I've even insterted some of your suggestions that fit perfectly...Simozzz wrote:Then I don't think you'll find anything introduced at that time.
I know that variants differ, sometimes even a lot but there is another thing you must consider. What do you think would happen with this set if I add several 2TE10 variants, then several TRAXX variants, then several "Taurus" variants, then several "Prima" variants, then several... you get the point. This is already a massive set and these "variants" would be overkill IMO.Simozzz wrote:2TE10
Because of this, my "logic" goes like this: find a gap (regional or time) and find an engine that can fill that gap, preferably adding engines from as many different countries as possible to have more "flag" variety. I'm not saying that possibly sometimes it will have to be a "variant" to fill a gap, that's quite possible when there's nothing else.
My bad, I didn't have much time yesterday and I've just glanced at them. I see now, thanks. 150 is out (70s) but I think I'll add the 163, we'll see.Simozzz wrote: If you do, you'll see that E499.2 and E499.3 are completly different locomotives
EDIT: Scratch this last one, I'm adding this one!
Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
First of all look at timespan of production. TE10 was in production for 40 years, while TRAXX and Taurus (even if you count whole ES64 series) less than 10 years. Another point is an amount of locomotives build... If you add all TRAXX(900) to all Taurus(360) build that won't be enough to cover only 2TE10M (2444) produced for same period of 9 years. What do you think would happen with this set if I add several 2TE10 variants, then several TRAXX variants, then several "Taurus" variants, then several "Prima" variants, then several...
And there is already several Prima (BR Class 67, RAI DE43CA, KTZ KZ8A + ONCF E 1400 'Prima II' from table) and several ES64 (DB 182, Korail 8200). There are others but it'll take some time to find them (ones easy to find are EMD F series (F3, FP9, FL9) and IC3).
That's why somewhere only shunters produced at given time, somewhere only *MUs... That's better to keep separate lines for different purposes and then fill gaps in lines. If there are no much models in region than keep only 3 lines: PAX loco, Cargo loco and *MU. For regions like Central (Western) Europe more lines: Fast PAX EMUs, Regional PAX EMUs, DMU, shunter locos, PAX diesel, freight diesel, universal diesel, PAX e-loc, freight e-loc, universal e-loc.find a gap (regional or time) and find an engine that can fill that gap
For example there is a gap in diesels in Eastern europe before CFR 060-DA (1959). Only shunters apear at that time. But after that none of them appears.

Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
OK, OK... Give me a suggestion but make it brief and concise. I've added the 2TE10M (1981.) for Belarus. Now, choose two more 2TE10 variants that fit into East Europe (write the country) and fall between 1983 and 1999. End of story.
Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
There are two 2TE10 in that period: 2TE10U and 2TE10Ut. First identical to 2TE10M, while second regeared for higher speed. That's why 2TE10Ut is better.
There is an a gap between CFR 060-DA and HZ 2062 where another versoin of 2TE10 may fit: 2TE10L (or passenger TEP10L).
Also despite they have only one cab, they can operate as single unit.
And as I've already said all 2TE10 were made at Ukraine (First 2TE10 even nicknamed "Ukraine").
At th end, note that each half of 2TE126 is 25m long (24750mm) or 10/8 (gives 20/8 total).

Re: [OTTD] 2cc TrainsInNML
So be it... TEP10L (1964) added for Ukraine and 2TE10Ut (1989) added for Ukraine too.
- East Europe is done, no more additions to the list. I said "a few" engines and now there are 15 of them.
- Asia is also covered, no more additions to the list there either.
- South Europe - I have added 8 engines to the list but I'm still looking for one or two steamers (preferably 1930s). Other than that, that's covered too.
@Lionic - Added your GMA Garrat ( ) and another interesting thing I've found...

I must admit that although Ukrainian diesels are much more needed for my game, I love CP2600 the most. Just like all that line of French "broken-nose" locomotives.
