... or we will have discovered that cloning is impossible because human genetics are so complex that while it is possible to clone the outside shell of the human body, the mind cannot be copied and the "clone" therefore is nothing more than a few pounds of flesh and bones held alive by mashines...
The RSC Primordial Explorer has reached Jupiter orbit... comet Alexi has been photografed aproaching the gas giant, geting pulled closer by its huge gravity and colliding with it ! Here are the spectacular pictures :
The Explorer will use Jupiters gravitational pull to turn around and return to earth

The mind thing is my little bit you have to cut my brain out of the dead body and put it into the new one then you shoot 1,000,000 volts into it then I am back.
Those pictures are from over 100 years ago that I took.
Emperor Jake wrote:Destroy your country?! Please, that was the madman Garth Uncia who threatened to blow up the CSA. If he were still head of UESPA, he could have flattened Newland with a fusion powered death ray. But he's safely locked up in a cell on the Moon (God knows how that man became head of the UESPA in the first place)
The UESPA looks forward to your collaboration. Just why does everyone have to keep things "top secret" anyway?
As a member nation of the UESPA, you are free to access all of our technology and facilities (including the space stations, the UES Endeavour and our moonbase)
Also, don't bother with the map, the forum display limit is 800*600, the map will never look good on that resolution.
In this case, the scientists wanted to be left alone, without any interference. The technology will debut shortly.
About the map, I wanted it to fit into a new tab without having to zoom in on it.
@APDAF: Since there are people of all ages on this forum, I'll say it like this.
you know I was actually considering not getting involved in this, but for everything anyone says you have a one-liner to counter it...
let's face it, the world will not be blown up by a comet or asteroid or invasion by aliens because the great majority of the players want to continue playing this game without restarting.
Even I, who joined very late and missed out most of the technological developpment am not for restarting... let's see how far this one goes !
And no, those pictures were taken a week ago by our very advanced spaceship on its way back from Jupiter now.
I posted the pics so I decide when they were taken, right ?

OT/ this will be my last comment on this matter... since this game is free for all, I am against kicking anyone out... but... I just choose to completely ignore anything comming from Britannia in the future... it's sad that it has to come to that so fast (even more so since I usually get allong well with everyone I meet) but I'm playing this to have a good time not for it to get on my nerves... there are enough things in the real world getting on peoples nerves, I don't think we need them in the game too....

The UESPA has comissioned a new spaceship. It will be called UES Pamela, and its purpose is essentially a space tug. It will be placed in service to clean up old and unused satellites, move space stations and other spaceships, and most importantly, fetch the asteroid needed to build the space elevator. It will be the second fusion-powered ship in the fleet after the UES Endeavour, and it will feature very powerful ion thrusters and a series of grappling lines with various kinds of attachments, including hooks and electromagnets.
The construction of the Maglev Launching rail on the Moon has also begun. This facility will enable shuttles to take off from the Moon without using fuel. This makes the process much more efficient and eliminates the need for a weekly delivery of fuel to the Moon aboard a Makuse MX5000 tanker.
Rohan Aerospace Agency is also interested in joining UESPA. We put all our resource at its disposal.
EDIT: Since we have reason to believe that space isn't an empty space and there might be other lifeforms present in it, we suggest we prepare for a possible encounter, which may but also may not be pleasant for the human race.
We have been designing (not yet building) a spatial torpedo to be equipped on Terran spaceships. This weapon would be based on a rocket-type missile with a high-yield nuclear warhead increased with an "pinch" - an electro-magnetic pulse emitter. Do we have UESPA's permission to continue with this research?

The RSC Primordial Explorer has returned from its trip to the jupiter orbit.
The astronauts are celebrated as national heroes in a big parade in the streets of Ciudad de Rojàn.
The spacecraft, though originally a revolutionnary design, now seems outdated in comparison with the designs of other nations.
The new design our engineers have been working on is well in progress. It will be a much larger ship, designed for the explicit purpose to leave the solar system and explore star systems beyond our own in the hope of finding another world for humanity to settle down.
There are still many things that need to be done for this to be possible:
-Propulsion - our scientists are working hard at increasing the acceleration and top speed of our NP-engine. The rough estimates predict that larger warheads, that could safely be detonated once the craft has crossed the heliopause and thereby left the solar system. The craft could potentially be accelerated to a third of the speed of light and could therefore reach the nearest star, proxima Centauri, in as little as 12 years.
-power generation - a question towards the scientists of the world : how far are we with nuclear fusion ? cause for a trip of this length, no other power source can be considered.
- life support - though the crew will most likely be in cryostasis for most of the trip, the conditions of the craft must enable the astronauts to survive in a wakened state for many months, possibly years, during the exploration of far away solar systems. We need to severely improve air and water purifying systems as well as waste management and the possibility to grow food on board.
As for the question of space armament, some thoughts have been given to a "light" space weapon by our RDI:
A so called "rail gun" would make use of the same principle as mag-lev technology, to accelerate a projectile towards its target at speeds of around Mach 20, possibly faster in a vaccum.

I should know better but I'm going to reply anyway... first : I thought as much, even if "mass accelerator" sounded more like a particle accelerator to me... secondly, even then... well our scienentists have developped a lighter version of our own... the laws of physics, including the effect of magnetic fields are not a state secret... and thridly... as far as I'm concerned, your country is still war-torn, since you haven't written anything about changes of government, rebuilding, economical strengthening, sciences funding, research directions... and so on... also you seem to have no presence in space, and no space programm (that imperial thingy of space was first mentioned on the last page, so it was just formed in my opinion...) so I don't see how you could develop such a thing.
Besides, we are looking for defence weapons against potentially existing and potentially hostile aliens, not for a WMD to blow up an alien planet we might want to trade with,...
