Have you tried turning your speakers back on?
To get a good answer, ask a Smart Question. Similarly, if you want a bug fixed, write a Useful Bug Report. No TTDPatch crashlog? Then follow directions.

Are you sure the data files for the sound are in the folder of OpenTTD?

The same thing has happend to me. All the other sounds work like ka-ching sound and the horns, but not the music. I've done just about everything to get it to work but nothing happens. :(

Did you put them in the ottd directory in program files rather than in my documents?

Edit:
Also on regards to music does anyone know how to add custom tracks?

I assume it's more complicated to add custom tracks then to just play youtube videos in the background.

I'm seeing a pattern here with Windows 95/98 games. If anyone here has played Hasbrow's Frogger He's Back (best frogger game ever), then you'l notice the music won't work either, but the sounds do. So until someone provides a fix for i'm sure MANY old pc games and their sound, were stuck here. Sad though, music lightens and excitens... :(

The music works for OpenTTD. Well for me, at least, it does. There's one sound file which is silent for a long while though, do not know which one
