Stadiums & city size

Post by Baldy's Boss »

Behold adjacent communities with about a 75-1 population ratio...yet each has a soccer stadium of the same size, nearly next to each other.
Is there no way to make the fields more proportional?

Yeah sure...Use the dynamite on the one in the smaller town. Problem solved.

Didn't you know that OpenTTD takes place in an alternative reality where a Communist FIFA took over the world and sponsored uniform stadiums to the working classes across the globe...?

Aston, near Birmingham
  • Population: ~28,000
  • Stadium: Villa Park (Aston Villa)
  • Capacity: 43,000
Birmingham (City only, not West Midlands Conurbation)
  • Population: ~1 million
  • Stadium: St Andrews (Birmingham City)
  • Capacity: 30,000
Ratio: 35:1

-------------

Stretford, Greater Manchester
  • Population: 37,000
  • Stadium: Old Trafford (Manchester United)
  • Capacity: 76.000
Manchester (City only, not Greater Manchester))
  • Population: 500,000
  • Stadium: City of Manchester Stadium
  • Capacity: 50,000 (although currently reduced during expansion work)
Ratio: 14:1

But both these cases have the bigger stadium in the smaller town :) notice that your smaller town is attached, just like in these cases. OpenTTD = highly realistic.

(Yes, I have too much free time)
