OPENTTD - Dragons Screens

Post by Dragon »

So i'm playing openttd for a while now, and i'm finally finding the courage and the time to show you some pictures of my empire.
Please tell me what you think of it.

So we will start in the corner of the map, at the small town of Hunningstone-on-Sea, it has an small, but populair beach.

Next stop is the city of Vlissingen, wich has a really nice harbor

After vlissingen we shall pass the big junction at Leeuwarden. It has been changed a million times, but grown quite naturally. I really like this one, as it handles traffic quite well.

And now, where entering my capitol, the big thing!

There are several ways of transportation inside this city:
Water - I use a lot of canals (can't help it, i'm dutch)
Trains - I try to put the tracks as much underground as possible, so these act as a kind of metro system.
Trams - The tramways are 2 systems, one elevated above the road as in Chicago's ring, the other as normal tramways
Road - An highway system next to the normal roads

Before you enter the city you have to pass the customs service, after that you will enter the outer (4-track) metro line

The outer track leads to 4 different industrial stations. As you can see, there are also a lot possibilities for leisure in the city.

Here you can see the outer metro stations and the depot-area's within the city borders.

I do have one problem do, the city seems to stop expanding in this game around 790.000 inhabitans, in my normal games the city continues to grow pas the 2 million. Is there a way I can fix this without restarting? Hacking the town-replacement set for example? The inner-city networks cost me ages to design and built

Another view of the inner metro ring, notice that the aquaduct passes over the roads here.

Here is the main port, wich imports cars, gold, food and gasoline.

And my pride and joy, Edam Grand Central Station, 8 lines moving in the north-south direction, 6 in the east-west. Seperate lines for both the skytrain and the regular busses, an dock and an heliport in the very center of the city. This is the biggest and most efficient station in this game

Same station in transparency mode.

- lights on harbour entrances have to be "green" on starbord and "red" on larbord/portside. Having both "green" lights there would be more than irritating!

- you can connect fake harbour railway tracks on quays and quay extensions like this:

Awesome screens. The sky train is a great idea. The dock scenes are amazing. I need to get some new dock grfs!
