A bit of this, then a bit of that ... old savegame again ;)

New line through and curving around Heidenheim. I like that part ...
Bridge.png

... but I couldn't think of anything better than a really long tunnel and an equally long bridge on the other side of the mountain, which I don't like too much ;)

Also, some new cargotrams. Really convenient for short distances.

The cute goods tram, is that from HEQS? And that tram track looks quite unfamiliar!

As for that bridge, I probably would've put it along the road there, with two shorter bridges, to try and minimise the length.

Thanks S-Transport ;)

Yes, that's a HEQS tram (medium length ^^), and Foobar's Tram Tracks I think. It has a few parameter to set for personal liking :)
I'll probably redo that part of the line at one point. Sooner or later it won't have enough capacity like that anyways ^^;

HEQs cargotrams are incredibly useful. I have ended up with more industrial light railways than the Bord na Mona!

Nice shots. I actually quite like the long bridge, its not as if the single span wasn't needed.

I've ended up rebuilding the track. Cost 5x as much and is 10x less effective, but I think I like it somewhat better. :oops:

Can't go wrong with loops. Just build loops everywhere, even on flat land. Just for the heck of it. 8)

This thread and save are getting so old, I totally don't know what I already posted anymore :|
Senden.png
Senden.png (137.37 KiB) Viewed 6213 times
But I do know that I've posted a picture of Senden before. I like this one better though, so #dealwithit ;)
(also it's 137.37kb in size. Neat xD )

A village in the North of the map ...
Coalmine.png

... which is what I'm currently trying to industrialize a bit ;) Simple coal mine.
Towns are pretty much all connected by now, but the amount of work going into the South is utterly incomparable to what little I did further North. Time to play around there a bit more.

Finally got the motivation to go back to my standard save ;) Still so much to do ...
Refinery.png

Build a new refinery. Totally didn't cheat to get oil platforms in the 1930s.
Weiden.png
Weiden.png (139.45 KiB) Viewed 5805 times
A railroad crossing near Weiden. I'm currently going over the network to improve depot access ... not the most exciting work ;)
Mainburg.png
Mainburg.png (160.51 KiB) Viewed 5805 times
I've posted Mainburg before, but it simply looks much better with Swedish Houses instead of TTRS. Love that town. Definitely my favorite on the map ^^;

As for stats, I'm currently at ~400 trains, 3500 RVs, 100 ships and 20 or so planes. Good thing I recently got a new CPU ;)

Just copy&paste spammed trucks. It's a 1930s game, so their capacity and speed is very limited. Even with the relatively few industries on the map a dozen or so RVs barely put a dent in any production ...
... I suspect I could just about hit the limit right now simply by c&p RVs without exhausting production. And I am paying some 20+ million DM for road maintenance, better make use of it. ^^;;;

Anyways, generic RVs are in separate companies, so they don't count:

Pathfinding RNG doing weird things. I only noticed because people started dying on the train tracks. Rapidly. ^^
Hockenheim.png
Hockenheim.png (103.5 KiB) Viewed 5682 times
Also - a perfect replica of the Hockenheimring. New configuration, obviously, although I suppose in 1930 I should've gone for the old one. Anyways, note how the Parabolica is perfectly parabolic ... ^^

I noticed that the old HUGE screenshots aren't up anymore, so here's a new one - note that it's uploaded on sendspace, so you need to download it from there. And iirc sendspace deletes files after a few months, so grab it while you can if you're interested ;) It's the busy (and therefor interesting) area of the map. I'd upload the save, but unfortunately that's a bit of a mess with the patched OTTD and some old GRFs. If anyone is interested in that, drop me a PM. ^^;

Here Be Dragons.

Thought I'd do some work-in-progress screenshots for a change.
01_expansion.png
01_expansion.png (877.55 KiB) Viewed 4978 times
It happens rarely, but once every few months (real-life months xD ) I actually feel like expanding the network ... kinda like this, I suppose.
02_elzach.png
02_elzach.png (168.67 KiB) Viewed 4978 times
Elzach needed a new station layout (probably not the most realistic one) to allow for through-traffic, and river diverting. The old river bed is still visible in the Northern part of the town ;)
03_aach.png
03_aach.png (175.64 KiB) Viewed 4978 times
Next up the line is Aach. It's in a more or less ignored part of the map so there isn't any industry or anything to speak of there ^^;

In the end I decided to build the station a level below town, not as I originally planned on the same ground. Also did a bit of NewObject placing ;)
05_moeckmuehl.png
05_moeckmuehl.png (161.5 KiB) Viewed 4978 times
Möckmühl was a somewhat difficult decision, but in the end I went for having the station in a different direction than I originally thought. Doesn't change too much, but I didn't have to demolish half the town this way ;)
06_ostfildern.png

Ostfildern is the final top for now. Not a very nicely grown town ...

Already a bit better. Just needs to build some houses now. Since at some point there'll probably be multiple lines it gets a depot.
08_overview.png
08_overview.png (247.7 KiB) Viewed 4977 times
View on the Aach to Ostfildern part. Also fixed some lake shores, some just looked way too improbable ^^;
Of course, there should be future expansions with local lines through Ebermannsstadt-to-further-West, one to Regensburg, and one through Windsbach-Krautheim-andwhatever-comes-South.
And more industry, too ;)
