Very nice shots mtwist! Any chance of putting your map for download as a scenario? It looks a good map and I'd like to try playing it.

Mike.

After a long time of abstinence I am finally back in business :)

In the early years the company concentrated it's money and effort on building up a profitable network connecting major cities and their suburbs aswell as some regional industries. Business went well so finally in 1945 the new strategy "mobility for everybody" started. In clear words, the countryside should be connected to the network aswell.

Along with this ambitious target the bigger cities got S-Bahn services.

Limheim city in the east and Michelmund, the biggest metropole in the region, are already connected by a direct express line.

There were already plans in the 30's to build a branch line through the mountains in the south to connect all villages and towns between Limheim and Michelmund. But due to money problems the line reached only Westerburg and ended there. More than ten years later the old plans were digged out again to complete the connection via Brunsfurt and Mühlhaven.

Some years later Schweinhausen moved again into focus. The single tracked branch line towards the countryside in the east (built in 1940) was extended by a second track. In parallel another line to Ravensburg, not far from Schweinhausen, was opened. The existing bus service was extremely overloaded.

To secure the company's income some industry lines were extended aswell.

In 1949 Michelmund got a S-Bahn service to handle the huge amount of new residents. Even Mühlhaven was included into this commuter line.

The smallest line of the network isn't even connected to a bigger city, but starts from Hanmünster a small town in the northern part that is served itself by a branchline from Schweinhausen. A cheap railbus is fair enough for the passenger volume.

Finally the last remaining big city Limheim got a S-Bahn service in 1954. Along with the construction of this line a second regional line between Limheim and Michelmund was planned. In contrast to the southern one this new regional service was built through the valleys. The trains go from Limheim and it's suburban stations via Innsmünster and Oberbrück to Michelmund and back.

Although goods services are not longer the major source of income the company is not willing to lose money because of carelessness. Therefore some lines were checked for profit and closed down or optimized.

Due to the high production rate of Michelmund's local food processor the freight terminal got an additional platform to transport the food to the freight sidings outside Michelmund.

Michelburg forrest increased production several times in the last years, so the decission for a new freight line to Ravensburg sawmill was made. BR232 diesels are the best choice for this service.

There was a lack of coal at Limheim in the early years. This was fixed by connecting the western mines near Freudenfurt. But due to low production rates of all serviced iron ore mines, this raw material is missing now. Therefore Düsselhaven iron ore mine was connected aswell - even with it's bad rate of 45 tons a month. To save money an old BR45 steamer was chosen to haul the ore train to Ravensburg docks. Along with the paper service the ore is shipped to Freudenover reloading point and finally transported to Limheim.
