Impressive! And it's not often I see a rail line I actually take with at least some frequency (although not very often) in OpenTTD ;)

I took the sourcecode and edited the properties for townzones and building dates.

Those are moguls. They can be found in TARS Pistes, released yesterday.

Have yet to play with trains that long, it'll clog my lines in seconds. My trains end up no longer than 5-6 tiles long.

only time I've ever used long trains is when servicing multiple producing industries in one area, like a cluster of iron or coal mines.

A tip for the future: Use Ctrl-S or the ?-button to take a screenshot in OpenTTD, you don't have to take one of your whole desktop and it'll look better because it won't be in JPEG.
