Mods question -
Hello I play TTD and Locomotion long, I prefer Locomotion because it has better graphics but TTD is better in a lot of things. The question here is whether it is possible to rely make some mods to emulate some process TTD
1.- Trains can destroy cars, trucks, busses and trams
2.- Planes: if in a long route it break down it can explode on air or landing
3.- Sistem of "subvencions" like TTD
4.- Common buildings production in the city: LABORATORY
4.- Basic cargos/building: WATER/WATER TANK, FRUIT/MARKET, "$$$"/BANK, ANTIBIOTICS/HOSPITAL
5.- Disasters:
with Oil transport - Fire
with Chemical - Some explotions or building/Path destruction or contamination
and Earthquakes, Floods, Twisters, EMP
I am willing to learn what it takes to make them. What do you think?

There are a lot of limitations in Locomotion, it won't let you do most of these.
1.- Trains can destroy cars, trucks, busses and trams
Trains can destroy trains by crashing, but they pass through everything else, so no.
2.- Planes: if in a long route it break down it can explode on air or landing
I don't think so ... no.
3.- Sistem of "subvencions" like TTD
I don't know.
4.- Common buildings production in the city: LABORATORY
Yes, many mods require the creation of new buildings or industries.
4.- Basic cargos/building: WATER/WATER TANK, FRUIT/MARKET, "$$$"/BANK, ANTIBIOTICS/HOSPITAL
Yes, you can create new buildings and cargoes. $$$/bank already exists in EDS's Valuables MOD.

To create a new building, start by opening some of the .DAT's with LocoTool, you will see the .XML code and .PNG picture folder required to make a new building.
Just ask if you have more questions.
Maybe some of the more experienced MOD-ers can help you further.

Point 1,2 and 5 ----> Why ??????
Point 4 (the second) ----> Yes, it is possible. For money and Gold etc. you are looking in the Mod from EDS.

TTD have disasters too, an earthquake eventually destroy (or not) your rails or part of a city, you need to have atention to these events

OK OK, I have Locotool, Locotool Frontered and vehicle creator and...
VC makes vehicles... (¬_¬)
LF Modifies XML's vehicles
Locotool separates DAT files into Images + XML file
The problem is...how to edit this XML, I use notepad but what line I need edit?

I could unzip a BUSSTOP.DAT (this can accept ALL cargos in stead of only passangers...I hate that) into images & a XML file, I can compress those into the DAT file again too but i cant understand how to edit properly the XML file
If could I know edit the structures XML files I will try to make new buildings and others structures, that's I want

You have the right idea. If you unzip/decompile a .dat file of the same type (so if you want to make a new industry, use COALMINE.DAT) and use a copy of it, you won't have to make your own code. If you study the code, it's fairly easy to figure out what each variable means. Thanks for that Locolester, but most of the graphics (except for the gold, silver and diamond sprites made by Tattoo) that are used come from original buildings, most of the new vehicles where made by Tattooo as well (and some of them by me) and he did an excellent job...Some other vehicles are just standard vehicles, so the sprites are the same as the original ones.Locolester wrote:Yes I know about these addon but I don't like the sprites in vehicles and buildings in use.
Creating new industries, grahics and vehicles is really time consuming...Perhaps you can try it and do better, but until that's done we have to play with the things we have.
