game shuts down..

i have been on the fax section and found out how to install the game.
it loads up but after a few seconds the game shuts down and returns to windows.
am i missing something..
any ideas please

i tried the patch but its still the same...do you think its something to do with my computer

No I don't think it's your computer. Make sure you're running ttdpatchw.exe, not gamegfx.exe.

i have been on the search pages and tried the suggestions about turning off my firewall and antivirus software.
but i am still getting the same problems.
the game runs for a short time, then cuts back to windows.
strange thing is that it runs for diferent lengths of time, if you know what i mean.
it cuts off at different times
i have been on the net and found versions of the game that you have to pay £4.99 as a download.
do you think that i will have the same problems with these games or do you think that they are designed for xp

I think it's just the windows version of the game, and will not work any better than the version you're using now.

I suggest you to make a fresh start with Nr-TTD installer, or try open ttd

Sounds like you are running the DOS Version...

how can i tell.
i downloaded the installer recommended but it wouldn't run at all.
its really frustrating as i use to love this game on the old playstation1.
i would welcome any suggestions

the game installs but wont run its says there is an error and reinstalling may fix the problem
but it doesn't.

i have installed the game to a folder on my desktop.
opened the folder and clicked on the ttdpatchw icon
it says that ttd is not installed properly (registry error 2)
