Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
=========
-[NGLTW]-
=========
The idea of this set is to provide narrow gauge trains in consists of 8 to 12 cars ( thats including the loco) to be used for fright duties, most will only move at 75 MPH or less, and will have to slow down to a very slow speed around the inside bends of tram ways.
Though yes I know, normally tram ways (light rail) is for trams/street cars, but this is a game, we're allowed to use imagination right
So far these are the trains that will be in the set...
Krauss Maffie ML4000 (Drawn)
EMD GT46MAC
EMD GL8
EMD G12
EMD G16 (Drawn)
EMD GT22CUM-1 (Drawn)
More maybe be put into the set later, but for now those should be good enough, I will try and have them coded to be compatible with ECS Industries
If anyone has rail car graphics for Box Cars, Hoppers, Tanks, Gondolas, and Auto Racks that they wouldn't mind sharing please let me know, though they have to be small cars since this is narrow gauge.

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
Wow. It looks like it will fall apart. Good job, if your going for an american theme

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
Lol, this set mainly has exported Narrow gauge trains, but yeah, considering these are heavy, slow but somewhat powerful i guess you could call it "American Themed" though, the KM ML4000 did have some problems, like suffocation in tunnel do to the placement of its air intakes and also it had A LOT of wheel slip, especially when it was converted to a narrow guage train, hell, it even derailed quite a bit as a narrow gauge train. I plane to make its reliability between 40-60%Comm Cody wrote: Wow. It looks like it will fall apart. Good job, if your going for an american theme

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
you cannot make a train this or that reliable, you can only decide how fast the reliability decrease...

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
No what I ment when it comes to putting it down when coding the train, It could be anywhere from 40 to 60 %, more then likely somewhere in the 50's.DJ Nekkid wrote:you cannot make a train this or that reliable, you can only decide how fast the reliability decrease...

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
I think freight trams are a great idea. There are some in the German TramSet and I use them quite often. I am looking forward to play with your set!
In my opinion 75 mph is quite fast for those trains, though. But it's only my opinion.
Also, I would like to know if you plan to make some passenger carriages, too.

Actually, Im not messing with the speeds, if you wiki up these trains, you'll find there speeds, though the ones with long consists might be slow due to carrying so much when full.arikover wrote:I think freight trams are a great idea. Heres an example what the Trains Might look like on tram rail (if they made the tram rails strait --- )

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
As i saied, you cannot set a fixed reliability.
GrfSpecs wiki wrote: Reliability decay speed
The reliability decay speed is set when a new vehicle is bought, and specifies how quickly the reliability decays after servicing. The initial TTD default for all vehicles is 20. If a vehicle goes without servicing for a long time, or if it gets very, very old, this number increases, meaning faster decay and more breakdowns. Larger numbers mean faster decay, smaller number slower decay. If set to 0, reliability never decreases in normal operation.

No, i ment for its max reliability. hell, let people bring it down to 0 and watch it break down every few tilesDJ Nekkid wrote:As i saied, you cannot set a fixed reliability.

Anyways, it clear it wasn't the most reliable Narrow gauge locomotive, since it slipped and derailed quite a bit

Re: Narrow Gauge Locos for Tram Ways
Probably not, these are mostly frieght locomotives, besides, you have Passenger Trams for that, try the Russian Tram set, they may be expensive but are cheap to run and can hold lots of people. You should also try (and should have) the generic tram set or eGRVS.arikover wrote:I believe you, don't worry!NekoMaster wrote:Actually, Im not messing with the speeds, if you wiki up these trains, you'll find there speeds, though the ones with long consists might be slow due to carrying so much when full.

If I come across any Narrow guage trains that are decent speed and hual passenger and do a better job then the trams then yeah, hell, I might shove the Eurotram in, basically its a high speed tram that connects sub urbs to urbs, but it looks more like a train and even the stops look more like train stations

Oh, well i guess you could help but for now, i was wondering if you could code those two locos for me for testing in real time, just make them cost 0 and run 0 for testingFooBar wrote:Not at the moment, but I have coded the Dutch Tram Set, as you can derive from my sig Drop a line if you need some advice on coding trams.NekoMaster wrote:Oi, you make tram sets?
