I haven't work yet on veichles..but maybe is more difficult than a building...moreover some trains are WIP by Ben Robbins..so I think is more useful to focus on other works, waiting for he complete them...

You (artists) probably know this from playing the game, but there's a few specific things that, if implemented in 32bpp, would make the temperate set almost appear finished. One's a high-rise building or two that seem to repeat over cities a lot, and the other is trees.

Far be it from me to make demands but I thought I'd throw in a suggestion about what to work on next. Playing the game with the new megapack is actually a very nice method of identifying the important parts that are missing. :)
It also reveals problems in overall coherency which I've talked about before.

Ok, I know you don't like certain comments, but I think this one is nothing like before. And if you don't like this one, please ignore.

I quite like the park, especially with the added entrances and lamps.
It's just that the grass texture seems quite repetitive. I have no clue about textures, how to find a better one (overall this one looks good), etc. But maybe someone else has an idea about that.

I do agree that the 'default grass' wouldn't work for a park. The default grass is quite high and parks are mowed regularly.

I have coded all sprites with lines of iron ore mine. It's uploaded to the repository.

I have made a preview of the park. The problem is that this "building" only haves one sprite. Other buildings have a their own ground sprite, but the park uses the grass sprite and I can't change it. If You see, there are grass in the borders of the park. :( The park made by Antonio is very nice, but I think that It would be better to code it as new a 2×2 house. It's not difficult to change this, It's only the render size.

ArmEagle: this comment is appreciate and relevant...I can try with other texture, or if someone give me a texture, I'll try it...
Maquinista: do you refer at this?if yes, in my opinion it isn't a problem..it's almost impercetible...by the way, if I enlarge the park can something change?
However, if this 2 proposals don't work, what imply (in practice in the game) to code the parks as new house?

It allows more freedom to create the park. The GRF file should be loaded, but... Who plays without GRF files?

A new house could be a 1×1 house... or a 2×2 house.

I agree with making stuff that expands on the original graphics a separate GRF. However, there needs to be a bundle for those, so that a player doesn't need to sift through hundreds of GRFs, unless they want to of course... So this 2x2 park idea among others in this thread are something for 32bpp-extra or some kind of "32bpp NewBuildings" set that no one's started yet.

Ok maquinista...tell me what I have to do (if I have to to something)...
I've changed slightly the texture, mixing 3 different of them...
Question: the Engineer HQ is marked by DONE..where I can find its replacement?
Finally:can you add some trees to complete the park?

Released: "Shops and offices."

Still needs to be coded, but this can be considered a final version and is ready for coding. I will not be able to support it in the coming months, so if you want it changed or improved you should download it yourself and amend it. :)

(BTW: I have no clue why Blender is rendering such a big white space around the picture this time.)

edit: WIP: a mask, will arrive this week. :)

What's with the humongous 'white space' around these small sprites? The images really look good but that big border...

I'd imagine the renderings come straight from Blender and the whitespace is there by default.

The blender template is somewhat eccentric with the amount of blank space left round the edges...

The park with fence will be added as new GRF house. It's a better option, since the original park is too fixed and It doesn't allow too many changes. :(

I've added this preview..but a strange thing happens...the cinema was replaced by the theatre..so the theatre buildings is double...nevertheless the cinema's sprites are still present...why?

Maybe It's a bug. I will try to find if there are duplicated files in TAR files.

Thanks, very good model. The only problem is that these two mines (diamond and gold) are dependant of the ground sprites. I prefer wait to code them, at least until Ben Robbins releases desert and Arctic ground sprites.

No prob, at least they are done now! And maybe it'll help inspire Ben Robbins to finish up the "official" arctic and desert sprites...
