Hi all,

I'm guessing you are getting quite a few of these questions but I looked through the thread quite carefully and I'm still none of the wiser.

How do I create the latest version of the patch for Mac?

I will praise anyone that could lay it down for me. :bow:

It seems that the issue persists that automatic separation will not be assured when you have way points on a route. Trains will start bunching up and ignore the separation.

Is there AI that can handle this pack ? I tried terron and it waste all its money immediately after start on terraforming. Thanks

Hi Vaulter,

Thanks a lot for making this patchpack !

I've noticed a problem with taxes. Even if you turn them off, you still pay taxes.

To test : turn off taxes in options, start new game, fast forward 2 years, cheat to get 20 millions ==> payment of 300k $ per month in others.

Ok :P . I Hope you'll find this bug someday. The tax patch is a bit weird because it's a percentage on your assets (company value). So it means that any investment you make needs 20%+ return on capital to be profitable. That's a bit restrictive.

Using this patchpack and the FIRS Industry pack, i noticed that the graphics of FIRS are not correct when the daylength is greater than 1. Is there also something in the pack to compensate this, or is this a known thing for this pack (or is this know to the daylength patch?)
Daylength is one of the things i really dont want to lower below the default 5 :wink:

I Download the Hardgame 0.8.167 from the link on site 9 of these tread.
When I unpacking and then start, I get an Windows with an Question I can´t understand!

i can easily decipher the words "Graphic", "Da" and "Nyet"... what else is there to understand? Also, delete the openttd.cfg that was supplied to fall back to the default language.

OK....

In the download pack is an failure in the .cfg there are no spaces between the points.
After delete these .cfg the ottd.exe take my old .cfg an start with out failure.

Im experience the same problem. Is there a solution for this?
As long as there are waypoints on the route there is no seperation between the trains. :(

Hmmm, when I add a 1 tile station and use it with a "via" command so the train drives trough it but doesnt stop at the station the seperation also doesnt work anymore.

It looks like it gets confused when it doenst stop at a "waypoint or station" thats in the route.

I met the same problem and solved it. Part of this pack is feature "12. Invoke daily, monthly and yearly scripts" which periodically runs console scripts. In file scripts\on_newmonth.scr is line "train slowed service". I don't know what exactly it's supposed to do, but it sends some of my trains to depots every month. Just delete this command or rename the file and everything should be fine.

I am struggling with this whole patch thing for OpenTTD i want to use this hardpack because it sounds awesome, however i cannot get it to work. I have been searching now for 2 days to figure out how to get it to work and every time i get fatal errors and what not and i don't even know if i am doing it right. I don't know where to start and everyone says it is so easy to do but no where is there an explanation on what i have to do. I have downloaded numerous different files software programs that the forums tell me to use but there is no explanation on that software and so i am stuck once agian. A simple step by step would be amazing because i am so lost.

Ok so to start i was watching Damage on youtube.com and he is where i got the reference for the Hardpack. in his very first episode the comments on the bottom he said i just downloaded the patch from the first post of this thread, extracted it and ran it and it worked. i tried to do that and the .exe file came up as a white screen, i could hear sound in the background and gave it about 5 minutes to load and nothing ever happened. I then tried to run the x64.exe and go a fatal application failure crash report below: I have tried using the downloaded files separate from the original game as well as merging patch 0.7.144 with the original game and overwriting the files that are duplicate both ways.

After exhausting all avenues i could think of with 0.7.144 i found openttd-hardpack-0.8.167-x64.7z on page 9 of thread. thought i would give that a whirl. Downloaded the file extracted it to a separate file and noticed there was only one executable file this time. Tried my best to merge the two files again. first starting with the original game going into new Hardpack and got "failed to select requested blitter '32bpp-anim-aa'; does it exist? I then tried to copy and paste the other way and add the hardpack to the original game and got yet another Fatal application Failure (coppied below). after trying this i went back to the forums and was looking around for an explanation about what exactly i had to do the only thread i found about it was from 2005 and they were talking about a program called tortoiseSVN. I went to the website and downloaded the program apparently it is for merging especially in patches like these. When i opened it up it looked nothing like the instructions that were on the thread and so i messed around with it for a little while and just couldn't figure it out.

All that i am looking for is an explanation on how installing this patch works so that i can get a playable game with the hardpack. i have searched and never actually came up with a set of instructions on how to install a patch that is somewhat recent. the only thing i found was the post from 2005 and that was some dated information. i can't imagine that its hard to do, the problem is i just don't know what to do. I have never done anything like this. this is the first open source game i have ever played. Please help me out....

the version you downloaded is actually very old, a newer version can be found here (which is actually the very first link in the first post)

that particular issue may be fixed there already.
