Hello!!

First of all, all my thanks for this great job. All these things together... such a great effort.... thank you so much.
I downloaded today the bundle at the top of this thread (openttd-hardpack-0.8.165-x64.7z) but I have two issues... one is a real issue, another one is my lack of understanding:
1) the game does not save the settings; everytime I launch the game it starts in Russian, 640x480, right-hand driving, etc.; I checked the game directory and my docs directory, and nothing is read-only... or at least I could find nothing to be read-only. In addition, if I try to load NewGRF from the in-game tool, it tells me it cannot download, because there is some read-only file
2) I start the game with 200.000$, but building a train-station near a mid-sized town costs even more than that. Ok, I take for granted it is part of the new policy of making the game harder. But then, at the start when I have little money, what am I supposed to start with? Goods from/to industries which are far away from cities? Or what else?

Thank for the support and, again, thank you so much for the effort you put in this pack!!!

Regards
Francesco

ad 1) try searching for files called "openttd.cfg", and delete those. (likely there is one in your (read-only) program directory, which openttd uses and tries to overwrite. this would also cause the download issue)

I have a problem, every time a train is going automatically to service it stops in the depot. It's not a problem when you have just a few trains but after a while it's very frustrating. How can i solve this? I'm using the newest patchpack.
I rzekł Ojciec do Syna: Idz do miasta po maslo!
I odrzekł mu Syn: Nie pojdę
I skarcil Ojciec Syna... zlamal mu dwa kręgi szyjne i wiedzial Syn, ze postapil zle.

I have had a similar problem, using Dutch Trains v2.0.0: I started the game in 1850, and everything was all right, I had just one locomotive. As new locos came out I start replacing them. At the start of a each month (but not January) all these renovated train would go to a depot and stop there.
I thought it was a problem of the Dutch Trains, so now I started another game with 2cc, and everything works well now.

May be it is another problem, I just wanted to give you one more element to consider

best

I got a problem compiling on Windows with Visual Studio 2012, with Mingw, everything goes fine, but I need a 64bit version which it can't produce. On VS2012 I get this error

Code: Select all

Error   7   error C2666: 'OverflowSafeInt<T,T_MAX,T_MIN>::operator /' : 4 overloads have similar conversions   g:\openttd\work3\src\vehicle.cpp   135   1   openttd
, Same as another user on last page.

I would like to compile it myself because i did some changes like adding the chunnel patch.

Update, got it working by stripping out the vehicle repair code from the patched source code. It now compiles, not the most pretty sollution, but I don't have enough coding knowledge to fix the problem.

No idea what that means :). As I said, I only got limited programming experience, but don't mind the problem just for me, I'm happy with my work around. And thank you for the nice patch pack. I used to play Chilli's Patch Pack, but it's nice to play with a newer version of OTTD.

I'm playing this patchpack, but I've got towns randomly doing road works. I can't find how to turn it off anywhere and it's driving me crazy. All the time I get messages that road vehicles are lost because they can't find a path to their next destination because of the road works...

edit: never mind, I found the expert settings mode and set the probability of random road construction to 0.

I got a problem with my game, because when i run it works fine but suddenly it crashes, and a small box appears, where it say:
Crash reason:
Exception: E1212012
Location: 000007FEFDA1940D
Message: Assertion failed at line 226 of d:\src\openttd\src\ground_vehicle.hpp: this->z_pos == GetSlopePixelZ(this->x_pos, this->y_pos)

It is always the same place, and you can see it below.

best if you make a savegame a few seconds before this happens, and upload it here. (and state the exact version you play)
