Post by pavel1269 »

I made another patch that "disallows" crash to an aircraft.

Again, it's a cheat but it can be usefull in multiplayer.

There already is a patch that allows server to configure probability that airplane will crash (or even turning these crashes off completely)
Look at http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=32202

Unfortunately, it is not yet in trunk. Crashes can be a bit annoying, so limiting them or turning them off would be a nice idea.
If you need something, do it yourself or it will be never done.

My patches: Extra large maps (1048576 high, 1048576 wide) (FS#1059), Vehicle + Town + Industry console commands (FS#1060), few minor patches (FS#2820, FS#1521, FS#2837, FS#2843), AI debugging facility

Other: Very large ships NewGRF, Bilbo's multiplayer patch pack v5 (for OpenTTD 0.7.3)

I had that patch. If you turn off crashes, it works like cheat on. But there is still chance plane will crash and this patch remove it completely.

I think if you set crash chance to zero, the only way to crash the plane is to try landing large plane (jet) on small airport. The runway is too small, so the crash chance is quite high (5% i think) and that is not changed by that patch. But if you use reasonably sized airports, this will no longer happen.
If you need something, do it yourself or it will be never done.

Yes it is written there, try harder. :) Hint: You will need to recompile.

I guess no one around here is willing to spoon-feed you.

First of all, try writing normal english words instead of slang, abbreviations, or whatever it is called.
Second, you don't seem to have tried anything yourself, so why should we invest time in you?
Third, the global path is:
1. Get a C++ compiler running at your system.
2. Get a copy of OpenTTD trunk via svn.
3. Check that you can compile the source, and that the result is executable.
4. Apply the patch to the sources, checking that it modified the right parts of the source code.
5. Compile again.
6. Run the executable.
7. Be happy with your patched game.

How's that for being helpful?

You asked how to use a downloaded patch, and my global path is as easy as it gets. There is no simpler way of using patches yourself.

If that is too complicated, I guess using a patch is simply too difficult for you (at this time).

Some times another user makes an OpenTTD version with one or more patches in it, and puts it at the forum. That may be an alternative solution for you then.

Here is a win32 binary. Unfortunately, this patch bumps the savegame version so you can't play games from trunk and trunk can't play games from here.
