Takeover by shares

Hey OTTD Community,

last night we played OTTD in LAN and I was a little shocked as I saw, that it is not possible to take over opponents by buying 100% of their share volume.
Is there a chance to get this feature back into the game?

That WAS a useful answer. If you must have it spelled out for you, purchasing 100% of another company is disabled in multiplayer because after a while, rich companies could immediately buy any new company that tried to start out. It would be too easy to abuse, and so is disabled.

IIRC you can still by 100 percent of the shares in singleplayer but you can complain all you want, noone is going to make this available for multiplayer in trunk.

If you really want you can modify the source yourself and give that version to your friends to play with.
