There is one little problem with the tram catenary which has bugged me for some time - there are no graphics for dead end pieces of track. Would it be possible to add sprites for these extra cases?
The picture below clarifies the issue; there are two types of tram track dead end, one with a half tile and one without. They are functionally different (the tram can turn on the half road tile), the graphics for the track are different (the half road tile end has a track loop) but the graphics for the catenary are the same.
Attached are an example set of graphics for these extra catenary bits (original tram track graphics by PikkaBird, these have been modified from them without permission. DO NOT use them without permission!).

Re: Improvements for Tram Catenary
There are some unused sprites in the current tramtrack sprite definition. Maybe those can be reused for this purpose. See the pinkish red sprites here: http://bundles.openttdcoop.org/opengfx/ ... sprite1831
Re: Improvements for Tram Catenary
Those blank sprites are (were?) for drive through road stops with tram track, they came from the TTDPatch-only era of trams before TTDPatch had drive through road stops for other road vehicles (IIRC). They may still be used for tram stops in TTDPatch... These sprites would need 8 slots anyways - four orientations with splitting into front (draw over vehicles) and back (draw under vehicles) graphics.
Re: Improvements for Tram Catenary
Just FYI there are now two GRF sets which could really use this feature; http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 74&start=0 and http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=38413
Re: Improvements for Tram Catenary
I do think this is a great idea, as always I don't know much about the OTTD source code but I presume this should be easily achievable as a patch which would hopefully progress to trunk. Realy just posting to show some support for this.
