Hello,
I'm now using Open TTD 1.2.1, and the only type of subsidies that i can apply is for passenger and mail. My "temperate world" has a very-high number of industries, but for more than "30 years" of playing, it was not proposed one single subsidy for any cargo than the above mentioned.
Am I doing something wrong?

This is how it's always been for me. Only very rarely do any subsidies come in for anything besides passengers and mail, and usually it's only once most towns are already serviced. So I don't think it's really a problem, just how the game works.

There are all kinds of checks done before a subsidy is given out, the source and target must have a common cargo (that one needs and the other one has), they have to be badly serviced now, and they have to be not too close and not too far away.
(and probably a few more that I don't recall now)

Since every town offers and accepts pax and mail, a good combination is easy to find. For industries, only the primary industries are useful (as secondary industries don't produce anything first), which makes finding a good combination less likely.

(And if you do what almost every player does, namely make money by hauling cargo from/to the industries, they get serviced, which makes finding badly serviced ones even more difficult.)

Unfortunately, i can't upload the savegame because it's over 6 MB (it's a 2048 x 2048 scenario)...
With almost the same definitions, at release 1.1.4, curiously I've never seen any subsidy for mail. However, all other cargos where avaliable for subsidies.

vandrade: Subsidy behavior changed between 1.1.4 and 1.2.1, allowing mail subsidies and making more subsidy combinations possible.

If I play in a game with few towns, subsidies appear fine. Maybe the subsidy possibilities should be tweaked to increase the chances of industry subsidies, but they can definitely appear.
