In nightlies (now using r24216), one can know the amount of infrastructure by opening the infrastructure statistics from the finance window or the company window.
Is it made on purpose that the marine infrastructures are weighted such that ship depots and locks are counted as 4 tiles (instead of 3) with the lock tiles doubly weighted, and the aqueducts quadrupled in the meantime? Is it a bug or intentionally done?

I believe that is done on purpose to make the costs balance out more evenly, or something. Similar to how rail junctions work. It costs more to maintain an aquaduct or lock than regular canal, so they are counted as extra tiles rather than having a separate cost factor.
