LAN Server Crashes Open TTD Multiplayer

Post by Jacko »

I Played a LAN Game with my Younger Brother who was downstairs, but i added the server for some reason because it wasnt working, anyway, i did that. Now whenever i load up the Multiplayer Section, it loads up the LAN Server and it says Melon:(IPV?) and then the game freezes and thats it, gone. Very Odd ?( and Now i cant play Online at all X( X( X( X( X( X(

EDIT: I called it Melon so we knew what we were looking for.

Can Somebody help me here??

When you add a new server manually, you have to type in the IP address (or DNS name) of the server, not the name of the server like Melon.
So add something like 192.168.1.3:3979 or my-brothers-pc:3979, where 192.168.1.3 is your brother's IP address, or my-brothers-pc is the name of your brother's computer. The :3979 at the end is the port number, leave it like that if your brother hasn't changed those settings.

So now find your openttd.org file (under Windows you'll probably find it in My Documents\OpenTTD), go to the [servers] section, and delete the line 'Melon = ' (or something like that). The multiplayer window shouldn't freeze again.

Anyway, haven't you tried 'Find server' before trying to join your brother's server?
