Hello everybody.
I have installed the latest nightly but something happend with the font.It is too small(somewhere unreadable... especially in map).could you help me how to solve this?? thanx

Just edit *_size settings in openttd.cfg (in [misc] section).

I got the same problem, I tried changing the fontsizes, but it didn't help, tried changing the resolution: just made the window smaller.

This happen in all resolutions: 1650x1080 (22 inches native resolution monitor) or 800x600 ( ).

How hard is it to read all the 3 messages before your post ?

Did you try to change font size? Because your problem should be solved if you change font size. For gryvix I can't tell as there is no screenshot.

Yes, I did. I tried with:

small_font =
medium_font =
large_font =
small_size = 12
medium_size = 16
large_size = 22

But nothing change.

What is written in the console if you start openttd with "openttd -d misc4freetype1" ?
Mostly top [misc] lines (...found as personal directory) and bottom [freetype] lines.

Hum... in My Documents* are a OpenTTD folder and a openttd.cfg. There I modify font size:

small_size = 7
medium_size = 10
large_size = 16

...and now font size are better.

How to make menu icons and windows bigger?

Windows may or may not be resized with a resize button - the if and how depends upon the window. There's no way you - currently - can change the default size. Menu icons can also not be changed yet in size.

And: always use plain text files, not MS word or some other proprietary formats for text files. I guess it's not only me who'll refrain from opening it.

Who puts a screenshot in a word file? Just upload the pic, and save everyone the bother. Apart from that, what planetmaked said. Word documents are a lot less portable than plain text files.

This should be a sticy topic. I play with 1920x1200 resolution, and text was very small. I used fontrenew GRF to fix that problem before found this topic.

But I have no .cfg doc, can I change the letter font?

I'm quite sure you have one. Otherwise just start the game and immediately exit it after starting, and a fresh openttd.cfg will be created for you.
