Setting Tram Direction

Post by Monarch1st »

Is there a technique that makes trams only go one way? There are no signals for trams, unfortunately.

I have some trams servicing several banks, and when they decide to go to a depot for maintenance, more often than not they reverse direction. So what I had set up as a very efficient loop going from station a -> b -> c -> d, now is the most inefficient possible going from a past d&c to b, past a&d to c, past b&a to d, etc.

Is there a way to set the direction of the trams so even after a depot run it will still run in the same direction?

The easiest way solution would be to add a "Service at (depot)" order at the appropriate place in the orders. This will ensure that your trams wait until they're at the appropriate point in the schedule before making a pit stop, and always come out heading for the next station on the loop.
