Hotkeys Reference Card (DE+EN+FI+FR+NL+RU) (v0.2.6)
Hello,
Here is a Hotkeys Reference Card based on OpenTTD v1.1.3/1.3.0. Almost everything (I think) on a single A4 page, 3-fold 6-col.
Available languages: Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Russian.
What next? Well, any volunteer for a translation? OTTD exists in 45+ different languages, so there is room for more! Obviously I don't know all these languages, so I can't do it myself, you will have to take care of the translation(s)! Don't worry about the layout, I can cope with that (well I hope I can cope with right-to-left written languages, never done that before…), just pick up one of the .odt below and translate the text (you can always look at what the OTTD UI uses for inspiration), check the shortcut keys (all keyboards are not equal), and send the result back to me attached to a PM. We will then start a (small) series of modifications/proofreadings, and your work will eventually be published.
Quick downloads:
DE : PDF / ODT
EN : PDF / ODT - can be used as a template for other languages.
FI : PDF / ODT
FR : PDF / ODT
NL : PDF / ODT
RU : PDF / ODT
Feedback most welcome!

Re: Hotkeys Reference Card
Why not add it to the wiki, or better, add a link to this topic from the wiki (so the discussion can continue here)?
Re: Hotkeys Reference Card
Well, it is on the wiki, on both the English and the French discussion pages. However, I didn't think of linking them to here, will do, thanks for the suggestion.

Adding a link at the wiki page itself is fine. No need to discuss such things.

You might want to get rid of the á's in the english version.
Other than that nice idea and thanks for the effort.

Hi,
adding an icon(*) for each key would make it more visual.
(*) the icon from toolbar/menus.

Re: Hotkeys Reference Card (EN+FR) (v0.2)
I think in the Meta box, it would be useful if you specify which country version of Qwerty that you used. (I guess UK or US, but it could possible have been some other as well) OpenTTD uses the physical key that is usually located to the left of 1 on a keyboard, no matter if it is used for tilde or not in your country.

Re: Hotkeys Reference Card (EN+FR) (v0.2)
Hello Zuu, it would make sense indeed, but the problem is that I copied over the info from the wiki pages, where the keyboard sub-type is not specified. And I haven't got any QWERTY keyboard around here…
BTW, with the physical key numbers being involved, it must be funny tracking down those keys on a Dvorak or a TypeMatrix keyboard

I will provide you a german translation soonest. Latest end of next week.
(Finally an itsybitsytiny something I can contribute to the great OTTD community. This way other german speaking people here can invest their time into more complicated matters of game enhancement.)
I also do have qwerty as well as qwertz keyboards at hand in case you need me to try out anything there.

Everybody can contribute to OTTD! It does not require you to be an IT specialist or designer. And it does not take days or weeks of your time either.
There are many simple yet important tasks like translations, investigating facts and details and many other that need work and if you help a bit then the experienced developers can focus more on making OTTD even more awesome!
OTTD = Awesomeness created by a whole lot of volunteers, be one of them if you like the game!

Hello everybody,
Thanks to bremerjoe's translation and dedication, German has been added to the Hotkeys Reference Cards. Thank you bremerjoe for your efforts
!
Version number has been pushed to v0.2.3 for all languages, but the changes are really minor for French and English (for the latter, if you can live on with tollbar instead of toolbar
, then don't bother to download this new version…).

Any volunteer for (a few) translations and (full) proofreading of the Dutch version of the HRC ?
Een vrijwilliger ? Enkele vertalingen en alles herlezen ? Jammer genoeg is mijn nederlands te slecht om alles te doen
.

I'll send a copy of the NL files (ODT + PDF) by PM to anyone interested. Please no publication in this topic before completion of the task, thank you.
EDIT : a copy already sent to Transportman, thank you.

Re: Hotkeys Reference Card (DE+EN+FR+?NL?) (v0.2.3)
Very nice. I'll have to print it out and keep it handy next time I play. One small spelling error (on the English version): Under "Basic hotkeys", it should be "SHIFT + Click" (with the "k"). As well, there's no bottom bar to the left-most panel.

Re: Hotkeys Reference Card (DE+EN+FR+?NL?) (v0.2.3)
Thank you MinchinWeb, the spelling mistake will be fixed with the next release. As for the lack of bottom bar, this is the way OOo treats a table that continues on the next column, there isn't much I can do here, I'm afraid.
