I wouldn't use it on electric rails in OTTD because of wires/poles and yes all U-Bahn systems use a electric third rail type. I guess if the track type was changed to monorail? because supposedly that becomes 3rd rail in the metrotrack GRF or something, I forget :P

If you want to stay authentic, then either FooBar's Metro Tracks or NuTracks. :-)

Pikka's finescale tracks also feature a 3rd-rail tracktype.

Draw road vehicles !
I'll try, but I need specifications (length, height etc.)

The DT4 sprites don't seem to appear on my computer or forum anymore.. can you repost it?

thanks, I got it saved before the forum goes whacko again and it ends up lost

Here, finished a Nürnberg U-Bahn DT2!

The DT2 in real life Nürnberg U-Bahn is usually 4 wagons long/2 units (long train) or 1 unit/2 wagons long (short trains). 1 unit consists of a Engine/control wagon and end/tail wagon.
So for that reason there is no reason for a passenger wagon!!

Well finally I've tried editing it here. man it was a real pain in the ... it had colours in places where it shouldnt have colours xD
and me being a rather nooby painter trying to improve didn't help too much lololol

I think it's best someone else continue editing where I left off or check

I made the windows wider, the grey line that streams through the train between the windows and slightly under, edited the doors in / \ views. The doors and windows were perfect in _ view and the roof of | view was perfect. Though in /\ views I think there is still might be errors I haven't found. :P

Sorry, that's my fault

Yeah, that's my fault too. I prefer doing _ view and | view because they're much easier than / and \ view (being a pain in the a**). That's why I start with these views first.

I could code this set for you guys, if you like, but it would help me greatly if you could tell me which graphics template you're using (i.e. the same one as the dutch train set? 2cc set? something else?) and stick to using the same template for every engine drawn.

Also, I'll need some info on train stats, such as what was posted here for the HK type. Also I'll need to know if you think the trains should be purchased as a whole consist (i.e. you buy the whole 4-car MU all at once) or if the head engine, cars, and tail engine should be purchased separately. Basically, load another train grf and take note of all the information it presents and how buying engines/consists works in that grf, etc., and think of what you would like to have happen for this grf. Given that, I feel confident I can sort out the behind-the-scenes technical details.

Wasn't planetmaker had write some codes ? You can just copy it all way down, actually. Just what I did to my test grfs.

alright I will repost Berlin HK type here, to note all their loading times would be fast, and track type will be monorail, and so will work when third rail grfs are loaded like the 2cc subway set:

I put the cost and running costs as it would be in the year 2000

Berlin HK type[/b
Name: Berlin HK type
Capacity: 85 (passengers)
Maxspeed: 120 km/h
Power: 900 hp
Introduced: 2000
designed life: 60 years
weight: 60 t
Running cost: 30,000/yr
cost: 100,000
Reliability: around 90%?

Other info: Newest train on Berlin U-Bahn

Passenger wagon
Capacity: 100 (passengers)
Maxspeed: 120
weight: 45 t
running cost: 2,500/yr
cost: 24,000

Christmas wagon
Capacity: 60 passengers OR 110 bags of mail
Maxspeed: 120
Weight: 45 t
running cost: 2,700/yr
cost: 26,000

Tail wagon
Capacity: 85 passengers
maxspeed: 120 kmh
weight: 50 t
running cost: 2,900 yr
cost: 30,000

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Each will be bought seperately and put together by the player in a depot.
I'll make another for F92 train, and so on :P

Graphic templates? What's that?

I think Hans wanted the trains to be a whole consist (like the trains in the Dutch trainset 2), but I like the idea of having the front car with a refitable metro carriage that you keep adding (like in the 2cc set).

right, well just about all the trains will be like a whole consist, except for ones like the HK type which have special wagons that would or wouldn't belong

as for graphics templates...Lol I think I know what he means but then I don't actually know xD

Here ist the template part of the NML Tutorial:
http://www.tt-wiki.net/wiki/NMLTutorial/Template

You basically draw every sprite in a prepared grid of blue boxes with the same size...
(Like I did with my sprites)

The point of the template is that all the sprites' positions are known without looking at the image and counting pixels. makes life for the coder WAAAAY easier.

this is how it would look in the depot when purchased (8 cars long) I suppose that would make it be 4 tiles long in that case
