Complete Sets
I'm not sure if this is the right topic, but I was wondering about complete sets - those that comprehensively cover their respective fields from 1950-2050. I was hoping to make a list here.

Re: Complete Sets
You may want to look at http://wiki.openttd.org/NewGRF_List and possibly rather extend that page. You're missing the Japanese and German (DB) sets as well as the whole category of industry and houses sets.
OpenTTD: manual | online content | translations | Wanted contributions and patches
#openttdcoop: blog | wiki | public server | DevZone | NewGRF web translator

Re: Complete Sets
I can't seem to find links to Japanese and German Trainsets - I'm looking for threads on this site.

Try using this. If you want the link to their whereabouts on this site, press the Discussion button next to the article.
[EDIT] Beaten to it.

Re: Complete Sets
Thanks. Also some one please tell me if one of the sets couldn't be considered 'complete'; some of the threads are quite confusing.
Re: Complete Sets
All the replies, and nobody even mentioned the NewGRF set index that is stickied in the forum (http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=14243)
Re: Complete Sets
lol. I'll include those links, but a sorted list might be useful. Is there actually a complete set of maglev trains?
Re: Complete Sets
NTMS is a good Monolev trainset: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=44606Wasila wrote:Is there actually a complete set of maglev trains?
Re: Complete Sets
But can it be considered complete? I can't find out how many trains there are...

Re: Complete Sets
All this depends on your definition of "complete". I don't know of many sets that are completely finished, rather continuously growing and improving. And also, a set that has released a taster, or a beta, can still be considered useful to people without being complete.
Re: Complete Sets
How many trains are there in the Monolev set?
Re: Complete Sets
Not enough, coding work seams to have halted, a waiting list is now gathering, although when it is fully coded you should be able to get al least 50 years play with what is designed so far.Wasila wrote:How many trains are there in the Monolev set?
EDIT:
The Japan set edition is finished though to be used with Japan set, you could put a link to this in brackets after the Japan set:

Re: Complete Sets
I don't get you. What do you mean by Japan set edition? Are those two GRFs for maglev tracks?
Re: Complete Sets
A while back I modified some of my MTS trains to have their RL livery's and I gave them to the Japan set, that's the GRF, with the latest version of the Japan set it adds maglevs, although it's onely compatible with OTTD since TTD patch can't support 2 additional track types.Wasila wrote:I don't get you. EDIT:

Is the Japan Set for monorail/maglev or just rail/electrified rail?

Re: Complete Sets
It puts Shinkansen rails on the Monorail rails (and possibly supplies Japanese Maglev trains I forget). But yes it does cover at least 3 of the rail types.
Re: Complete Sets
The base Japan set takes up the rail/electrified rail and monorail slotsWasila wrote:Is the Japan Set for monorail/maglev or just rail/electrified rail?
and then with the optional maglev grf for OTTD it uses maglev too.
Re: Complete Sets
The optional set being the one you added?
