Indeed, Ameecher has it 100% correct. Graphics by Ameecher, and the (apparently terrible) coding by myself (GRFMaker).Ameecher wrote:Just to clarify this is nothing to do with Michael Blunck, it is meant merely to complement his work. Do not trouble him if the work of myself or James is broken.

Why terrible?
works fine for me. The only thing would be the implementation of real push-pull, but that's just a nice to have.

Can't be done without hacking the code of DBSetXL which as we all know is very bad.The Irish wrote:Why terrible?

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
Just for Info:
Doubledeck-Coaches running since 1930s in Germany. Already Push-Pull. LBE It was pulled (or pushed) with an BR60 streamline.
It would be nice, if the Set can support the whole (color)-Palette of the Coaches from 1936 trough the DR (east) to today.

The first step would be to source some photos and assemble a list of said liveries. Any chance you might help with that, you seem quite knowledgable on the subjectRoland0815 wrote:Just for Info:

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
technically, all these are NOT "DB double decker coaches", double decker coaches were almost exclusively DR [east] until the 1990's

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
[In addition to Eddi]
Until 1990, the DB did not use any double deck coaches, except the inherited 7 units of the former LBE, of which 4 survived until 1977; and 6 prototypical units built in early 1950s (DC4ümg, DBC4ümg and DBCRümg, both in 23m and in UIC standard length). Only other double deck vehicles ever were the well-known Rheingold dining-cars.
Only after the DR/DB merger of 1990, the new DB got a full stock of ex-DR double deck coaches:
- 747 Dbuz of 1974 ..,
- 760 DABbuzf of 1992/93,
- 777 DABuzf of 1974 ..,
- 778 DABbuzf of 1974 ..,
And only in later years, the DB ordered new double deck coaches:
- 750 DBz of 1993,
- 751 DBz of 1994,
- 752 DBpz of 1997,
- 753 DBPz of 1998,
- 756 DABz of 1994 - 97,
- 757.5 DABPz of 1998,
- 758 DABPz of 1998,
- 761 DBpzf of 1995/96,
- 762 DABpzf of 1995/96,
- 763 DBpbzf of 1997,
- 764 DABpbzf of 1997,
...
Rebuilt coaches were all very similar (except the heads of the driving trailers), and as such are included in DBXL 0.9, together with a couple of post-1993 vehicles. However, modelling the original DR stock would be a quite different cup of tea. Those double deckers were mainly "articulated trains", i.e. using Jacobs´ bogies, they couldn´t be de-clutched in normal service.
regards
Michael

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
This was only ever created to fill James' and myself need for double deck coaches in our DBSet games. I have no intention of making it a complete representation, we'll leave the up to Michael should he so desire in v0.9 of the DBSet.

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
I have googled some (the most popular) colors used by the DR.
This color cames in units with 4 waggons afair 80km/h. In these dark-green waggons are runnig from the beginning to the end of the DR(east).
S-Bahn Halle/Leipzig Single-unit waggon. Some of these waggons running through the whole DDR.
S-Bahn Berlinsingle-unit waggon.
Units with 5 waggons for higher speed. afair 120km/h (160km/h planned)
The 5-units type has also become an post-coach with the same outline. For the other colors came no post-coaches.
Unfortunaly i have no pictures for the doubledeck-postcoach. Also there was planned for salon-coaches (afair "normal" outline). The post- and salon-coaches are single-units.
The colors past 1990 are well dokumented in "mint-green/white" and "verkehrsrot/weiss" (red/white). Only the last ones are in the existing Set. For these color-shema existing no post-coaches or other varitys. (in this case the set goes wrong).

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
Update: Version 0.3
An update for you, inclusion of the earlier DB Regio livery. Should be available from around 1992 in the mint & white livery and then in c.1997 change to traffic red upon replacement.
Also of note is that (un)loading speeds have been sped up as I'm sure that was starting to annoy a few people. Now stands at 30 passengers/tick, should make things flow better.
Available from BaNaNaS as well.
Credit to JVassie and my good self.
Download available HERE.

Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
The colour is wrong, IMO. Originally, its more a mint-green (RAL 6033), not blueish[*]. I´m using the colour range 60 .. 67 for "mint green". That blueish note reminds more of the DB´s former InterRegio livery.Ameecher wrote: [...] the mint & white livery

You'll just have to hurry up and release v0.9 then Michael, that'll rectify the issue!michael blunck wrote:The colour is wrong, IMO. Originally, its more a mint-green (RAL 6033), not blueish[*]. A small bug:
The cab car is smoking like a diesel.
Re: DB Double Deck Coaches
Updated. New Versions Attached. Ameecher will need to update the BaNaNaS versions I'm afraid.
