The Official TT-Forums Meet of 2011 - Manchester - VOTE
Hello ladies and gents,
So, it's that time of year again - time to plan the annual meet. This year, the meet will be heading south to Manchester, following on from Edinburgh last year, and there should be no excuse for any of you not turning up, as Manchester is easily accessible from all over the UK, and indeed the world!
The first thing we need to do, of course, is come up with a date. Traditionally, the meet has always been held on a Saturday in summer. From an entirely selfish point of view, I'm likely to be away in early July, so I'm proposing sometime between mid-July and late August for the meet. If you think you can make any of these dates, please vote, and the results will enable us to pick a suitable date. If you know for sure you're NOT going to be able to come, please do NOT vote.
A venue has not yet been chosen, but I will set my best men on the task shortly.
Any questions, comments, ideas or similar, or if you just think you're going to make it, please post!

I'd like to participate but ... Manchester seems a bit far away for me. Next time have a meeting in Germany?
Well, in north-east Germany to be a bit more specific.

Pfft, it's the middle of summer!

Re: The Official TT-Forums Meet of 2011 - Manchester - VOTE
My term ends in the 2nd week of August! Then actually got a full schedule until the 3rd August when I fly home!
Oddly enough, this holiday has been whopping huge. And it's oddly coincided exactly with the Cambridge Lent Term!

So, you'd be able to make a meet on the 6th, 13th, 20th or 27th then, surely?JamieLei wrote:My term ends in the 2nd week of August! Then actually got a full schedule until the 3rd August when I fly home!

Erm, well... How do I put it? The only thing not preventing me from participating but at the same time preventing me from participating is the fact that I'm unemployed at the moment. Sure, I don't have to take vacation because I'm free anyway. But on the other hand I don't have the money to buy the tickets.orudge wrote:Eh, Patchman made it from Germany a couple of years ago.
Anyway, I'm very shy "in the wild" so even when I have the time and money to book a trip to Manchester ... well, I think I'll just be a bystander, not saying much, mostly listening to others and probably looking bored even if thats not the fact. It's a shame that I'm best when left alone

For the time being, any of those dates seem to be fine for me.

I'll let the others set a date before I commit.
Seems the only way to fit it into my busy life of nonsense!

Didn't see the topic before
I'd love to go! Later August probably works better for me as I'm meeting a couple of Friends from Norway in Early August and July I might try and travel.
Other than that, August would be alright for me or early July.
May I make a suggestion of looking into the Aviation Viewing Gallery / Concorde Centre as a possible meeting place?
Edit:
13th of August I'm probably be busy going elsewhere. I've taken my vote off for that day

I'm interested in attending, but realistically only if I have a job by then.
