Open Source Sim Tower?

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
Ok now! Sorry for the multiple postings, I just didn't think it was appropriate for the last post to be edited.
Now we have a more reliable server hosting a portal, forum, wiki, blog, and image gallery. The site is at http://opentower.informe.com/.
Please do not hesitate to help us out! We really still need lots of help!
And don't forget to register again if you had already on the old one (I'm so sorry that the first host didn't work out.)
EDIT: SourceForge has accepted our project and we now have it set up there. I just need to set up some services for it currently. We are looking for programmers! Please help if you can! http://sourceforge.net/projects/opentower/

That's bascilly it so come over and go over to the site.(Site is in My siggy.)

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
I wouldn't be surprised if that gets marked for deletion or at the very least for clean up soon...
The way it's written is definately not the way it should be for a wikipedia article, and I guess it's debatable whether or not the subject is prominent enough to be featured on wikipedia...

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
With my first quick read through, I was close slapping on a "This article reads like a advertisement" tag...
...I probably won't touch the Wikipedia article, but I wouldn't be surprised that it would be removed for not being notable. Knowing the Wikipedia administration. New articles don't go unnoticed.

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
Yep. I'd suggest you finish OpenTower and THEN put it on Wikipedia, as otherwise Wikipedia would be littered with Open Source games that are constantly in development.

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
People..People,before you start calling for some heads Let me get it out there that one of OT's members ON HIS OWN decided to make an artcle for OT.
Ailure I agree that what this member did is
what you call a "This article reads like a advertisement".
And he will be delt with.

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
*Update*
For those who wonderd what happend to Open Tower it's still around.
We have made some strides in the graphics depatment as demonstrated by this concept art
(Sorry to kill Table format)
The Admin Bob has also wanted new discussions to continue on this board instead of the old one

Thx,

Please make that image a link or make it smaller so it fits into the tables.
Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
Tbh, I'm not sure where I see the difference in the graphics between Yoot's Tower and that.

*get out his SimTower CD and plays SimTower instead*
When you get round to a stable (official) release, give me a bell.

Re: Open Source Sim Tower?
Absolutely, still looking forward to its release. I like the idea mentioned on the site about making the rooms a standard length so that they are easier to fit together.
They should have a soundproof panel too so that you can mix uses on floors more easily. Its a bit stupid that if I want a coffee bar for my offices I have to build a whole floor of them - where only one would be profitable.
