RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 - Custom Content

Post by Chrill »

Well, with topics about Parkitect and RollerCoaster Tycoon world, I decided to play some more RCT2. I am sure some of you have GREAT roller coasters, go kart tracks or log flume rides. I'm also convinced some of you have created fantastic landscapes, scenarios and parks. I'd like to try them so please post all your creations!

Below is a scenario I've created, very simple but pretty interesting.

Desert scenario, one big river in the middle. You own all land on this side of the river, the other side may be purchased. In one corner of the map is a mountain which is used in a pre-built roller coaster. The rest is up to you!!

(I had to pack it as a .rar because the scenario extension .SC6 is not permitted)

Ooooh, I like this! It reminds me of Dynamite Dunes.

I used to be an avid player of RCT2, was an active member of a community site called New Element, here's my page with a few of the parks I created and released.

'Chamonix' was my award winning design that I submitted, also the two 'silver' parks were joint builds that won that respective award.

Sorry for the bad zoomed out shot, I don't have the game installed anymore and this is the only screen submitted to the post.

Ah, I'm glad this thread is waking up. I am struggling to find good scenarios. Your link is most helpful! :)

NE is probably the best RCT fansite there is, not as active as a few years ago but certainly up there.
Tons of park progress threads, awards, competitions and scenery packs etc.

Yes, an impressive amount of custom content too. I'll have a proper go through there! :)

I remember a website where I downloaded a few new flat rides. I'll look around, but I don't remember what it was.

I'm working on a new map, a smaller and more difficult map currently going under the name Ancient Island. It's a small island with high cliffs and lots of difficult-to-navigate terrain.

How do I put one of these cliffs to best use? I build an elevator, a go kart track and a great rollercoaster in the area!

Do they actually use the elevator to get somewhere? I always have the feeling they rather walk instead of taking transportation rides.

The elevator has two stations, therefore using it will either bring you up to the top of that cliff or down to the bottom. However, I don't think they use it as a means of transportation primarily, rather as a ride.

I've recently started playing RCT2 again. I built this pair of dueling coasters a few days ago. They're not the greatest in terms of stats, but I'm pleased with the overall look.

Still need to remember to put block brakes in my coasters however.

Also attached is the scenario I built them in. You might want to change the scenario settings before playing it. Then again, you might not.

Those two aren't really long enough to need them.
