Minutes of the Transport Empire meeting of 2005-04-17.

1. Meeting opening.

3. Discuss the minutes of the previous meeting

4. Design document.

  4a. Confirm vote
  
    - Owen received 9 ballots.  After counting them, the same two people come
      out on top (uzurpator, hellfire)
    - A vote was held: "We accept this result, and appoint Hellfire and
      Uzurpator to the DD."  Yes/No. Motion carried with 5 votes in favour and
      no votes against.
  
  4b. What to do now? How shall we/the DD group proceed with the DD?
    - Hellfire and Uzurpator are in charge of the DD, anyone else that wishes to
      support should approach them before doing anything with it.
    - The DD is to be kept secret until a complete draft is written. Interim
      comments could slow the process down.
    - Hellfire and uzurpator will decide between themselves how to proceed. If
      uzurpator declines to work on the DD, Steve will take his place.
  
5. Other tasks

  - A long discussion emerged, concluding that we now will talk about three work
    areas: code, content and management.
  - The following items are suggested for the task list:
    * Website. (management)
    * Wiki maintenance. (management)
    * User interface. (content)
    * EmpireBot - our own irc bot. (management)
    * Create a list of systems available for testing. (management)
    * Setup development environments on our machines. (code)
    * Make a small demo using SDL and store it in the CVS. (code)
    * Upload the minutes and logs to the document manager. (management)

  - Mek will create a small demo using SDL and set up a development environment
    for it. He will also be our helpdesk.
  - Zuu will lead the Website team.
  - jps will work on a UI and on the Website.
  - We do not need IRC channel nannies yet.
  - Tasks will be stored in the wiki.
  - Chris will build skeleton features for task lists, like templates etc.
  
6. AOB

  - Using of autoconf has not been decided. It is, however, strongly recommended
    and obligatory if Gnu GetText is used.
  - The logs and the minutes of the meetings will be uploaded to the document
    manager at source forge. It will be put on the task list for the managment
    area.
